Mini Therapy Ponies Calm Before-Flight Jitters!

Hold onto your boarding passes—Vancouver Airport just turned the terminal into a mini-fairytale!

Green Acres Therapy Horses has teamed up with Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to bring adorable therapy ponies to socialize with weary travellers, making it the first airport in North America to include miniature horses in its animal-assisted stress-relief program. Normally a role held by canines, Magic and Tinkerbell, two Cavallo-booted therapy ponies, hoofed their way into YVR’s “Less Airport Stress Initiative” (LASI) and are now helping travellers feel calm and connected in an otherwise stressful environment.

This dinky dynamic duo rocks the cutest in hoof fashion—Cavallo CLB “Cute Little Boots”! Not only do they protect tiny hooves from busy terminal floors, they add exceptional flair to the job.

So, Next time you fly out of YVR, Magic and Tinkerbell may just be waiting in the terminal, ready to add some pony-powered Zen to your journey!

Hoofing it Out Before the Havoc: Getting Horses to Safety When Disaster Strikes

How far would you go to save your horse? And what if you were a 16-year-old girl, with fire closing in all around you and only one way out? In January, Kalyna Fedorowycz was faced with all these questions and more.

This young woman risked her own life so Sovereignty (a horse that was not even hers) was not left behind to die.

Sovereignty was safely booted with Cavallo Sport Boots on the hard pavement during their terrifying,  14-mile ride out of the canyon.

While Kalyna’s story is one of triumph, it also comes with a sobering reminder that not every animal makes it out of such disasters. Keeping Cavallo Hoof Boots in your trailer or barn can help protect your horse’s health—and, in some cases, might even help save their life:

Conditions such as arthritis, abscesses, laminitis, or navicular disease can make horses reluctant to keep moving or to travel long distances in an emergency; see an immediate difference in movement and comfort once boots are on.

Help for Horses with Hoof Damage Due to Fire, Hot Ground and Terrain

In the Pacific Northwest in October 2021, fires tore through land and homes and displaced families -and their horses. Wildfires had burned 5.9 million acres in the United States, and another 10.33 million acres burned in Canada. Cavallo helped the horses displaced by these fires by donating hundreds of hoof boots and supplies to key rescue programs in British Columbia and Washington State. Cavallo also offered support as the rescuers learned how to use the boots as medical aids to support horses injured during the fires.
