Beautiful Memories Made at Liberty Festival

We are thrilled to be the naming rights sponsor for the Liberty Horse Festival. Alongside Dan James, Amber Marshall, Ben Atkinson, and more, this event epitomizes the spirit of freedom and the deep bond we share with our equine friends. What once seemed like movie magic, when we wondered, “How did they make that horse do that?” is now a reality—explained, demonstrated, and within our reach.

Every horse rider now has the opportunity to participate. We marvelled as horses paired up, danced, reared, rolled, and ran in perfect formation—all without bits, bridles, and sometimes even without riders. The International Liberty Horse Association makes this possible for everyone. If you want to have more fun with your horse and dive deeper into liberty training, this association is for you. Connect with a vibrant community and celebrate each other’s triumphs.

Why Did Cavallo Sponsor the Liberty Festival?

Cavallo aligns with Liberty training as we also embrace liberty and the freedom to choose the less invasive treatment of horses’ hooves.

Hello? You Have a Surprise Call from Carole Herder!

Horses in the Morning host co-host Jamie Jennings got an unexpected gift and a surprise call-in to her radio show from Carole!

Flyover Farm is a facility that specializes in educating humans and horses on nonviolent concepts. Jamie is a Monty Roberts-certified instructor who restarts and rehabilitates retired thoroughbreds off the track to prepare them for a new life—and she does it free of charge!

Some of the OTTBs she gets have really worn or chipped feet, some with lameness issues. Jamie’s friend Janet lent her some Cavallo Boots and Pastern Wraps for Lawless John, an OTTB with really small feet who needed help. The boots have done wonders for this guy!

So… Jamie’s friends Janet and Ginger contacted us to ask if we could donate some boots in a range of sizes, and we did! Jamie was thrilled when all the packages arrived and sent us a beautiful thank you message. And then Carole surprised her by calling in to her morning show to surprise her! This Pony is the Town Mayor

Carole & Greg with Patrick the Pony edited

Earlier this month, Greg and I embarked on an unforgettable adventure to meet the one and only Mayor of Cockington, England—Patrick the Pony! Have you heard of him? Our journey across the stunning British countryside took a twist as we got hilariously lost (but hey, who could complain with such beautiful views?). Eventually, we found our way to meet Patrick and his delightful owners, Hannah and Kirk Petrakis.

Meeting them all in person was such a joy! Patrick’s charm and the efforts they make to sprinkle a little magic into people’s lives felt even more special up close. They truly add love and light to this sometimes-uncertain world of ours.

We’re beyond proud to provide Patrick with the comfy footwear he uses while visiting care homes, hospitals, schools, and special events, fulfilling his mayoral duties, and even trotting downtown to grab a pint of Guinness now and then! What a life!

Going Deeper with Equine Podiatry

Carole Herder & Greg Giles from Cavallo Hoof Boots at Equine Podiatry Conference UK 2024

As passionate hoof boot advocates, Greg and I felt right at home at the recent 2024 UK Equine Podiatry Association Conference. Equine professionals and horse owners alike enjoyed this conference, which hosted an impressive selection of speakers and experts area of equine health!

Launched in 2006, the Equine Podiatry Association (UK) exists as a self-regulating professional body for Equine Podiatrists practising in the UK.

Equine Podiatrists are highly trained specialists in shoeless hoofcare, who work closely with owners to achieve the healthiest hooves possible for their horse.

Why are Equine Podiatrists So Successful?

The equine podiatry approach is somewhat different from traditional farriery, educating owners so they can understand how different factors influence the health of the hoof, helping to develop hoof-friendly horse management practices and providing close support and guidance as the horse’s hooves change.

The horse has the innate ability to heal itself and EPs work hard to ensure that the maxim “do no harm” is followed. This hoof care system is based on a very effective model which takes a complex structure (the equine foot) and breaks it down into a number of key parts that enable the EP to assess the health of your horses feet and recommend ways of improving that health. They never use any kind of shoe that permanently fixes to the hoof.

Members of the Equine Podiatry Association (UK) are required to hold a relevant qualification, and prove update their skills yearly through continuous professional development, ensuring high standards of professional competence are maintained.

What YOU'RE Saying: Cavallo Hoof Boot Reviews

"A loss for words..."

“Wow. Cavallo Hoof Boots, you have me at a loss for words!
Cavallo found out that we…

…retrain thoroughbred horses for Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation here. They know what a struggle it can be when you transition from racing plates to normal feet.
Look what they sent us! 14 boots of all sizes! I am so excited! Thank you so much.

If you need hoof boots, please buy Cavallo!”

"Hang on to these old ones"

“Love Cavallo Hoof Boots! These are my golden oldies. They’re more than three…

…years old, battered and have covered many miles.

Next to the old one is a new one, just look how deep the tread is compared to old one which is almost flat.

I think the wear tells a story about how your horse uses its hooves and the biomechanics.

I shall hang on to these old ones, because their scars and wrinkles remind me of many trail rides and can be useful therapeutically if I should ever need.”

"Skeptical of these boots"

“I was so skeptical of these boots would actually have traction but…

…let me tell you what!! We went to Mount St. Helens on extremely rocky/hilly terrain…zero slip on his front end where we had boots. We climbed a huge sandy hill, great traction! Very impressed.
