Honoured at Home for Work That Reached the World

There are moments when recognition feels especially meaningful. Not because it’s public or prestigious, but because it comes from home. Seeing our journey reflected back through our local Sunshine Coast, BC, newspaper was one of those moments. It was heartwarming in a quiet, grounding way, a reminder that work rooted in a small, rural community can still ripple outward, touching horses and horse people far beyond our forested coastline.

A National Nod for Horse-First Innovation

This year-end 2025 brought a special moment that touched me deeply. I was named Regional Finalist in the 2025 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards â€“ an honour shared in our local Sunshine Coast BC newspaper. Being chosen from more than 9,000 applicants for this award was humbling, and seeing it highlighted through our home news beacon reminded me how far thoughtful, horse-first work can travel.

From a Simple Question to a Global Community

Cavallo began with a simple question: What if we truly listened to horses and designed hoof-care solutions around their hoof and health needs? From our rural Sunshine Coast base in British Columbia, that quiet curiosity has taken shape over nearly two decades — reaching riders, caretakers, and equine hoof and health care professionals in countries around the entire world.

What this local recognition affirms for me is that meaningful ideas to help horses don’t have to start in major equestrian urban centres to resonate with horse owners globally; they can grow from persistence, careful observation, and a willingness to keep learning.

When Many Voices Come Together, a Caring Herd Moves Forward

I see this recognition as belonging as much to the Cavallo community as to me – to the riders, owners, trimmers, and professionals across many countries who have shared their experiences, questions, and trust over the years.

I’m grateful to continue this work alongside people who care deeply about horses and who believe, as I do, that small, steady steps taken in the right direction can make such a meaningful difference.

Wishing you many happy trails,

Carole
