Cavallo Gives

Changing the world…one horse at a time.

Cavallo Horse Hoof Boots gives donations

At Cavallo, our intention is to serve. We assist horses by providing comfort and protection. We serve their rescues and owners by alleviating the pain of lameness. We serve the horse community by ensuring a portion of every sale of Cavallo Hoof Boots goes toward giving. It’s why we deserve to be here, as founding pioneers, leading the hoof care movement.

We help associations, services, educational initiatives, scientific research, behavior and wellness studies, disaster relief funds, emotional support for seniors and the sick, PTSD and abuse victims. We support keeping the horse and human bond intact through riding associations, riding groups and training programs.

When you buy a pair of Cavallo Hoof Boots, you participate in this contribution to the well-being of people and horses!

Gerda's Equine Rescue
Gerda’s Equine Rescue

U.S. horses shipped across the borders to Mexico & Canada daily; their meat used for human consumption. This is a demise fraught with intense terror and abuse during transport. Gerda’s primarily rescues horses from auction as their lives are in imminent danger, and Cavallo Boots help the ones struggling with painful hoof issues. They save the ones we can; giving them a chance to live out their lives, happy and loved.

Parson’s Cavalry – Texas A&M University

Parson’s Cavalry has over 60 horses and mules in their unit, and 95% of them are 100% barefoot. The remaining are transitioning to barefoot. Some of their events involve long rides on pavement at a trot. The boots we donated have helped these horses – including their heavy-pulling horses. These horses pull a 1902 Field Artillery Gun. It is a heavy load, and there are some step hills during marches. With their boots, they pull with no limping or slipping.

Emily's Memorial Horse Show
Emily’s Memorial Horse Show

We are honoured to support this cause that is dear to our hearts. On 18 November 2013, 17-year-old Emily’s parents’ world fell apart when their daughter lost her battle with depression and ended her own life. They were left to figure out how to live without her and decided that they needed to pick themselves up off their knees and honour Emily’s memory by helping other adolescents who struggle with mental unwellness. Since 2016, Emily’s Memorial has raised substantial funds for CASA (Child, Adolescent, and Family Mental Health) programs, their Equine Therapy program, and other much-needed CASA initiatives.

British Columbia SPCA

The SPCA’s mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in BC. We first got involved with them when Cavallo CEO, Greg Giles, contacted them to help after reading about a farm where dozens of severely neglected miniature horses were seized – many suffering from serious hoof ailments. We are pleased to report that all of these minis have found loving homes, and are on the road to recovery.

Cavallo Gives to Monty Roberts: The Movement

One of the most accomplished horsemen on the planet, Monty Roberts could now, in his later years, be resting on his laurels — but that’s not his style. In his spare time, he hosts a vey meaningful, yearly event called “The Movement”. This transformative two day journey helps attendees discover the unique power of horses to find mindfulness, to learn and apply non-violent forms of communication and leadership and to help humans and horses live better lives. In the arena, presenters and trainers share their perspectives of the flight animal and how their vocations were changed when they were able to use horses as a metaphor for a better understanding of their work and relationships. People lucky enough to attend these events are moved by stories and lessons of horses transforming humans. Cavallo proudly supports this worthwhile event.

Freedom’s Gate Equine Rescue

Freedom’s Gate Equine Rescue was born as a result of the enormous amount of horses that are abused and/or sent to slaughter for human consumption every year.  Our founders have so much compassion for these animals that they couldn’t stand by and let it continue without trying to help in any way possible. Thus, Freedom’s Gate was founded: an equine rescue where horses can come to decompress, get the health care and rehabilitation they need, receive handling and training, and eventually get paired up with their forever family!

At Hasty’s, they feel that horses give us their heart and soul and to disregard or dispose of these beautiful creatures is a violation of that horse as a living being, as well as a violation of our ethical and moral compass.
