Cavallo - Hollywood’s Choice

Why does Hollywood horse handler Scarlet Walker only use Cavallo Hoof Boots on big jobs like the Beyoncé Bowl?

Scarlet, owner of Horses For Productions, booted Queen Beyoncé's horse with Trek Boots for safety during the famous NFL Christmas Halftime Show!

From Scarlet: “I want to thank YOU for creating such a lovely boot. We really do love the boots, even prior to this event (we’ve used them a few years now), I’m always telling my horsie friends how great they are! And I’m sure you know, but your team is so great! They had all the boots sized perfectly and shipped fast! We've tried several other boot brands, but yours work the best. We have the option to use rubber horseshoes, but I feel much better with Cavallo Boots on!”

Britney Brandt, Indiana - Cavallo Hoof Boots testimonial

Keeping Shoes On a Show Horse

.
From Britney Brandt of Indiana: "I'm not normally a product endorser, but these are too good not to share! My daughter has a show horse. However, I refuse to have a horse stand in a stall and only come out for his job. Any horse I own will get turnout time. This has never been an issue until her current horse. JD is young, and when he's turned out, he runs and plays with reckless abandon… Literally, every time he’s gotten out in the big field, he's pulled a shoe. We’ve done bell boots, bell boots with duct tape, tried the reiner tape trick, we tried everything with no success. We tried another brand of hoof boot, but they just didn’t fit.- they spun and flopped.

Then I came across the Cavallo Hoof Boots. They're recommended for horses with shoes (they even offer an additional protective pad to protect the boot sole from shoe nails). The staff communication was amazing when I reached out about fitting. I wasn’t comfortable picking the size, so I sent pictures of JD’s feet, and they selected the correct size for me.

We tried them for the first time yesterday, and WE LOVE THEM!!!! They fit perfectly, and though covered in mud, they rinsed right off and looked like new. AND HE KEPT BOTH SHOES ON!!! I would 100% recommend these boots. They have several varieties to address different needs. Reach out and they will answer any questions you have!"

Wearing Cavallos the Whole Race!

“The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Mounted Unit proudly participated in the 75th Harris County Sheriff's Office Pony Express. The Pony Express Ride is a prestigious tradition where horses and riders, mainly from Houston-area law enforcement mounted patrol agencies, travel along U.S. Highway 290 from Waller County Fairgrounds to the State Capital in a relay fashion. Once they reach the Capitol in Austin, riders pass on letters of invitation to elected officials on the steps of the Capitol, marking the beginning of the 92nd Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

My partner, Anson Drake & I loped one mile at a time as a team in this relay-style race. Both of our horses are barefoot and were wearing Cavallo Boots the whole race!”

June Bug Looks So Stylish In Her Boots!

"June Bug was so happy to have her boots on. She actually did not want to take them off when she first put them on, but now puts them on and takes them off easily.

She has been barefoot for awhile and has very healthy feet, but used to experience tenderness after longer rides. With her Cavallo trek boots plus gel pads, she is able to make those longer rides more comfortably. June is also a real “clothes horse” and thinks her boots are very stylish."

Cavallo hoof boots for arena riding and dressage training

Dressage horses can benefit from boots too!

"I had never thought about using boots on our dressage horses as I always thought they were more for trail riding.

We moved agistment and found that with my daughter Emily's pony Mistie, the sand was a bit more abrasive than what we were used to and 3 out of her 4 hooves were showing signs of cracks forming in the toes. The farrier was starting to talk about the need for shoes, but Mistie is 16 years old and never been shod, so we didn't really want to go down that path. We contacted Cavallo for advice and was recommended a full set of Trek boots with pastern wraps.

Mistie trains Medium level dressage, so we needed boots that would not affect her movement at all, but she moves and performs really well in her boots, with no change to her training at all. The pastern wraps are really good in the arena as they stop any sand that may get into the boots from rubbing. I'm now thinking of transitioning my dressage horse to barefoot and use boots on him when needed too, the result has been that good!

Thanks again for all of your help!"

- Jenny Farthing, Emily, & Mistie

Measure to Find Out

Regular or Slim Sole?

  1. After a fresh trim measure hoof LENGTH from buttress line to toe as per the diagram.
  2. Measure hoof WIDTH across the widest part of the hoof.
  3. If these measurements are the same or very close, you need a REGULAR sole for this hoof.
  • The sole LENGTH on each size boot is the SAME on both REGULAR & SLIM soles.
  • The WIDTH on all SLIM soles is narrower than the length providing a better fit for a narrow hoof.

Potential Hydrolysis effect on Cavallo soles

Cavallo Hoof Boot soles are molded in industrial grade TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane). Under certain conditions, this compound may be vulnerable to a chemical reaction known as Hydrolysis. Hydrolysis is a bond breakdown which may occur at least 2 years after production. This happens only when boots are stored in unfavorable conditions and not being used. Hydrolysis may be avoided by ensuring good air ventilation and avoiding humidity over 70%. Keep the storage environment cool and dry with good air circulation. A combination of temperatures as high as 40 Degree Celsius with high moisture content, should be avoided.
Hoof boots that are frequently used in very wet conditions should be allowed to dry before storage and should not be stored in the original box or in areas of poor air circulation. Follow these instructions and your hoof boots will last free of Hydrolysis for many years.
