Carole & Greg Wrangle Some Fun at the Calgary Stampede:
Greg and I were invited to attend The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth by Alberta Carriage Supply, who booted all their Big Drafts in Cavallo BFB Hoof Boots.
The Stampede in Calgary is a tremendous event known for its world-famous rodeo, concert series, constant midway action, and various other daily entertaining shows.
The nighttime light show with drones was not just a light show but a progressive spectacle that was the best and most advanced we’ve ever seen.
The parade was sensational, with many horses wearing comfortable Cavallos to absorb the shock and concussion on asphalt.
If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend it!

Honour and History
Well… We certainly celebrated two incredible countries with gusto this month! Canada Day was July 1st, and Independence Day in the USA, of course, was July 4th! Two Cavallo Community members sent us exceptional photos of their celebrations, and we just had to share them with you! The photo of the regal Canadian Mounties in their Red Serge on Canadian horses came in from Kelly Hamzic of @ak.canadianhorses (Instagram) from a Canada Day parade in Airdrie, Alberta, and the gorgeous photo of the horse proudly wearing the US flag is from the talented Paige Stracener of @bigskyhooves (Instagram). Just beautiful!
Here Comes the Pony!
The National Pony Express has fascinated Americans since its first riders hit the leather in April 1860! This mail service lasted only 19 months, but won a permanent place in the history of the American West.
The National Pony Express Association (NPEA) was established in 1978 to honor the memory and endeavors of the Pony Express riders and to identify, preserve, and mark the original Pony Express route.
National Pony Express Rider Patsy Lange’s Report on the 2024 Re-Ride:
“I have been using Cavallo hoof boots on my daughter’s and my own horses for at least 20 years! I’ve used them on mountain rides of all types of terrain: rocky, muddy, etc. I have never had any of them come off or tear. The main use of the boots for us has been on the National Pony Express Re-ride, which I have participated in for 32 years. This year my Trail was from the Wyoming/Utah border to Murray Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. We try to stay as close to the original Pony Express Trail as possible. I had 13 Riders and we covered about 72 miles in 9 hours.
“The Pony left St. Joseph, Missouri, on 6/17/2024 and arrived in Old Sacramento, California, on 6/27/2024, 10 days later. We ride 24/7, covering 1,966 miles, as the original riders did in 1860. The Pony travels through eight states: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and California.
“There are approximately 650 to 700 Riders and their horses carrying between 1100 and 1200 historical vignettes and personal letters (YES, you can send a personal letter by Pony Express!). The letters are carried in a mochila, a leather blanket-type device designed to fit securely over a McClellan saddle. It can be easily taken off the saddle and placed on the saddle of the new horse and rider at the relay stations.
“Each state has its own Facebook page. There are some great pictures, videos, and stories from this year’s Re-ride and previous Re-rides as well. Our mission is to preserve, mark and maintain the original Trail and to KEEP THE HISTORY ALIVE! See ya up the Trail!”

Tawnie made a fabulous video for Cavallo some years back and we were excited to find an email from her. She wrote to tell us about how she is seeing Cavallo Hoof Boots on Disney Horses! She shared this super cute photo of Chad, a well-known horse, that gives carriage rides at the Disneyland Resort in California.
Chad is a BIG BOY!
He’s a Percheron Draft horse and he’s proudly rocking his comfy BFB (Big Foot Boots) here! The boots help to keep his feet and legs from becoming fatigued while providing protection, comfort, traction and support for his big job of pulling carriages on asphalt and hard surfaces.
