The Texas Masked Rider is the well-known and beloved official mascot at Texas Tech University in Texas. A student selected through a competitive process holds the sought-after position of Masked Rider. A symbol of school spirit and tradition, the Masked Rider embodies the university’s heritage and values. The role is steeped in tradition and is meant to inspire pride and enthusiasm among students, alumni, and fans.
The Masked Rider leads the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team onto the field at home games and is a prominent figure during football games, riding a horse and energizing the crowd. The famous saying, “Guns Up!” is a spirited rally cry and signature exclamation that embodies the energy and enthusiasm of the Texas Tech University spirit.

Laminitic Donkeys Get a ‘Bootiful’ Transformation!
Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge in BC recently reached out. They needed help with two of their beautiful Mammoth Donkey ladies, both suffering from Laminitis.
We sent boots to help, and look what we got back! Nicky, their Herd Health Staff Member, made this excellent video for their ‘eBray’ Newsletter (we know…what an awesome name for a newsletter!).
This 10-minute video walks you through the entire process of preparing and fitting an equine with Cavallos for the first time. Turtle Valley is always working to educate people about donkey care, so this will help you with those long-eared friends that you’re thinking of booting.
