We've Come a Long Way, Baby!

It made my day to see this message from the incredible Mary Connor, a dear friend from 'way back when'! Thank you, Mary. We sure HAVE come a long way!❤

Mary Connor, Cavallo horse hoof boot user review

“Oh Carole, I remember those early days. How skeptical we were, how we scoffed at having to stop and find a boot or wait while someone re-fastened theirs. But you stayed the course to what you knew in your own heart to be true.

This generation of my horses is all barefoot and have your boots for longer rides or rocky ones – I’m a total convert and completely grateful to you and your dedication and for your team’s, expert advice, care and follow-through. Not only do you do horses great service, but your team also embraces a level of professionalism in acquiring the product and supporting it with an education that surpasses most anything you buy in today’s world.

Proud of you and what you have accomplished, and if anyone reading this hasn’t read Carole’s books yet, I highly suggest you do!”

What You're Saying!

White Line, Thrush & Club Foot Managed

My daughter Corie Jo is a barefoot trimmer. A write-up of her is actually in one of your articles a couple of years ago. I actually moulded her…

…(or I should say our farrier friend did) from a very young age. Her mentor passed away just a couple of years ago. Through word of mouth, she has since developed quite the farrier service here in western Quebec. We recommend your boots to her clients who want to go barefoot.

We were sold on your boots! They literally aided in the rehabilitation of our rescued Friesian mare who was only 10 at the time. She had a quasi-club foot. With x-rays, we were able to remove just over 4 inches of hoof.

She went from wearing your size 6 to a 5 now. Her body has also transformed over the 3 years after getting her feet ‘fixed’. Your boots were a godsend. She also came with severe white line disease, severe thrush (her frogs weren’t able to function for most of her adult life under previous ownership) and massive ‘crusty granulations’ under her fetlocks that were due to mites. She was basically used as a broodmare although now we are riding. Your boots saved her as she was going through the transformation.

Congratulations to your whole team! So happy that Cavallo is Canadian!”

Cattle Drive Back on Track!

“If I hadn’t borrowed a pair of Cavallos from a friend, I wouldn’t have been able to use my most reliable pony for our cattle drives. When my…

…pony came up lame from a hoof abscess after returning from a mountain trip, I was sure I was going to have to pull my 25-year-old out of retirement. A friend offered to lend me a pair of your boots to try. I was all prepared to try them and still change horses after the first cattle drive. But to my surprise, I was able to do all 4 drives on my one sound pony. This promptly encouraged me to order my own Cavallo Boots. I also think they will be great for my mountain trips, as her soles will be protected as well.

I'm a Cavallo Customer as Long as I Own a Horse!

“This is my Mustang, Moreno breaking in his new Cavallo Treks while mowing the yard! Yesterday, I did the fit test on my gelding and they are…

…a perfect fit! Popped right on and have no twist from side to side.

He has room in the back of the boot, which allows the space to add extra protection with Cavallo Pastern Wraps. The wraps will be wonderful during my mounted orienteering competitions where I often ride through streams, clearcut areas and heavy brush during a ride.

Thank you so much for the excellent and prompt customer care that you have provided to me over the last couple of weeks. I’m a Cavallo customer as long as I own a horse!”

New Podcast - Managing MUD Madness!

The Humble Hoof barefoot horse podcast - Mud

Mud – we spend hours of our lives and an exponential amount of money trying to find ways to reduce it, yet there’s still constant upkeep to make sure it is manageable.

Alicia Harlov figured who better to chat about mud with than someone in the UK, where rain is so common! So she reached out to Amy Dell-Anthony, author of the book “Horse Track Systems” and owner of Abbotts View Track Livery in the UK, about practical ways horse owners can deal with mud management. They also discuss track systems in the muddy seasons and ways to handle hoof health in constant moisture.

Here’s a relevant recap of some of Carole’s best blogs & articles, in case you missed them first time around:
